On Izu: Day 1 Part 3

We stayed in Itou for the night, at a ryokan, cos the three of us wanted to experience the onsen ryokan experience :D
sleeping and snacking area

living room area

maki posing in the partition between the living room and the sleeping area

megumi checking out the provided snacks

After looking at our room, we went for onsen. For obvious reasons, there are no pictures of that. -_- After onsen, we went for dinner

shot of a bit of what we had for dinner... cam couldn't take it all in, so i decided to take a pic of each dish.

Shot of some kind of concentrated alcohol. eargh. [i thought it was water.] knocked it down when we kanpai-ed.... aiyo.

each pic is a dish: one person's share. This is a pic of the starting dish. sweet and a bit salty. the mushroom went well with the egg. 8.5/10

Lobster salad. i don't really like mayo, but this one was pretty good. the onions got rid of the mayo taste that i didn't like. You can't really see it clearly in the pic, but there was a good bit of salad under the lobster. salad dressing was very very nice! had a strong saseme and a slighyly tangy flavour. heehee. 9/10

nabe inredients

nabe. 10/10

grilled lobster... found the meat a bit too mushy...not firm at all. 6/10

Sashimi plate. rather limited variety of sashimi. This was shared by all three of us. 7.5/10

Lobsterhead miso soup. ALotbetter than the usual miso soup, but found the flavour of the lobsterhead a bit too strong 8/10

rice rice is well... rice.... tasted less bland than normal rice, but didn't really go well with the lobster dishes. went nicely with the nabe though. 6.5/10

tempura dish. so-so la. the ebi tempura was good, but small.

yakiniku on hot stones. COOL and YUMMY. 10/10

Dessert was mango pudding, but i forgot to take a pic of it -_-. craaaaaap so here's maki and megumi instead. haha. 8/10
short bout of playing canadian and thai card games. This one is a thai card game, much like speed. only a lot more fun.

stoning/sleeping
END. NExt post will be on the sakuras. haha. sorry for making you guys wait so long. Oh and by the way, dinner was part of the hotel's "service" and therefore free~
