On the Waseda Sai

The Waseda Sai is THE most well known campus matsuri in Japan.... or SO i'm told. It's said that 50,ooo people attend it each day.

It's pretty HUGE, took me a while to get used to the number of people around. There are performances, games, exhibitions, booths, Food and Drinks. [maid cafe, host club also got.(O.o)]

This is about 200m? away from the main enterance... have a shot from the other direction in an earlier post[On my new campus] The black rectangular screen actually shows you what is happening on the stage, but i'm so far away you can't even see the stage, much less the emcee on the stage... and i've already zoomed in my cam to the max.

Believe it or not, a few celebs visit the waseda sai each year... and the festivities are actually broadcast on national tv. pai seh, pic a bit blur...

Got mistaken for a secondary school student by this fellow["Chuu gakusei? Masaka koukou sei? EE! SODAI no gakusei desu?!!!"] haha poor guy looked like he was beaten into submission when he apologised... hahaha. Took a pic with him :D

They have a kimono rental service, you can rent it for an hour for free, so xia yi, wanting and I went to try on kimonos.

This is the changing area. It's behind those cloth screens. An old jiji peeped at us!!! Grrrr!

There were people who specialised in helping others get into kimono.

After putting on our kimono, we went to the park beside our canteen to take pics. [less people. Nice scenery.]

OH yeah, poor Xia yi couldn't take walking in the kimono and found it painful to walk in the slippers so she was a little behind... :P Wanting and Xiayi.
